WILD FENNEL SPROUTS

A typical Mediterranean wild herb, known to the Egyptians and Greeks, who attributed invigorating properties to it, and to the Romans, who used it as a spice and medicine. Rich in water, it is therefore an excellent diuretic and has digestive properties. It contains potassium, Vitamin C, folic acid, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus.

Informations

The strong, fresh flavour of the sprouts is given by the two oils, anethole and fenchone, contained in them. The medicinal properties of wild fennel are numerous and were known in ancient times, the most important being that it reduces the formation of intestinal gas and the resulting pains, aids stomach function and digestion, lowers cholesterol, has antioxidant, diuretic and antiseptic properties, as it helps restore the right bacterial flora.
